Writing on the Door And there it was.
When our insect-like vehicle finally reached the top of last hillside, it laid directly before us. Object of our interest, reason for our unheard of voyage, focus of our lives. We all studied holograms of this place, of course, but even then we looked forward to this moment. Even images taken from the orbit, from the deck of the Traveler, seemed to be too distant, too unreal.
But now we were there.
After the first moments of enthusiasm, shock came.
The place looked like nobody touched it since initial images were taken. In fact, it seemed to me that scrub and vines grew in this time. One would say that such an important discovery would be preserved with maximum care. But everything we found here on Trias since we arrived with the Traveler convinced us that colonists are nearly as bad as The Children.
